From college through completion of my doctoral degree, I spent a total of 13 years in school. During that time, we often heard many examples of how things work “in theory” but are often quite different “in practice.” For example, in theory, a course of psychotherapy should conclude when therapist and patient determine that it is time to conclude. However, in practice, the duration of treatment is often determined by other factions. This is just one example of many that exist. I strive to keep theory and practice as closely aligned as possible. I appreciate that the struggles a person brings into treatment can be very complex, but the treatment process itself need not be. This is the backstory of the name IN THEORY, thanks for reading!
